The Family Planning Program (FPP) provides educational and clinical services to help individuals maintain their reproductive health, and to prevent unintended pregnancy. The program has a special emphasis on serving low-income women, men, and teens.
FPP is a part of Maternal and Child Health.FPP services are provided by statewide.Specific services include:Comprehensive, high quality reproductive health care including routine exams, screening for cervical and breast cancer and sexually transmitted infections (including HIV), as well as offering a wide range of contraceptive methods. Services include pregnancy testing and counseling, and education on reproductive health and sexuality.
Services for young people also include education on abstinence, improving parental communications, and building life and personal responsibility skills.All services are confidential, offered at a reasonable cost, and FREE to those unable to pay.Adobe Acrobat Reader format. Family Planning ProgramThe mission of Title X is to provide individuals with the information and means to exercise personal choice in determining the number and spacing of their children. This act authorized grants to provide comprehensive family planning and preventive reproductive health services; such as, screening for breast and cervical cancer, screening for sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV, level 1 infertility services, and general health education, counseling and referrals for sterilization for both men and women. Family planning services are provided on a voluntary basis in a confidential manner.Individuals have access to FDA-approved birth control methods and supplies, abstinence counseling, and information to all who want and are in need of these services with priority given to persons from low-income families. Services are provided on a sliding-fee schedule, based on household income and size.
